UK seat manufacturer Acro Aircraft Seating has been evaluating high performance and anti-microbial materials for some time. Its Series 6 product family features Tapis Promessa AV seat covers – a material specifically constructed to inhibit the growth of bacteria and other surface pathogens with EPA-registered antimicrobial technology, says Rachel Barnett, Head of Marketing.
Acro is also working with its suppliers on implementing anti-microbial technology which can be applied to the main passenger touchpoints, including meal trays, armcaps and other plastic parts, with work at “an advanced stage”.
