João joined Acro in December 2025 and leads the Engineering department. He also holds the nominated role of Head of Design with the UK Civil Aviation Authority.

With a career spanning various senior management and delegated signatory roles at B/E Aerospace, Rockwell Collins and Collins Aerospace, João brings deep experience across the full development lifecycle of aircraft primary, secondary, and interior structures in military and commercial aircraft programmes, having led cross functional, global teams in areas including design, stress, configuration management, airworthiness, systems, electronics, certification, manufacturing, and supply chain.

João holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon) and an MBA from Warwick Business School.

Outside of work, João enjoys listening to music, reading, running, playing football, and admiring his retro toy collection.
