Andrew Clemow has taken up the key post of Supply Chain Director at Acro.
He brings to his new position specialist experience gained during 16 years with British Airways and, most recently, during a nine-year spell with Emirates.
In addition to having completed sourcing programs for a variety of Buyer Furnished Equipment including aircraft seats and galleys, Andrew has been responsible for the acquisition of aircraft engineering design and certification services, powerplant MRO services, avionics equipment and ground handling services. He has successfully led a wide range of inventory management and supply chain initiatives to reduce costs and lead times as well as optimize stockholding.
At Acro, Andrew assumes strategic and operational responsibility for the company’s global supply chain. Reporting directly to the CEO, he will drive performance improvements across the supply chain function, in particular addressing materials costs and improving purchased parts availability, as well as securing improvements to supplier performance and relationships through the establishment and nurturing of long-term agreements.
A fully qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, Andrew holds a BSc Hons degree in Computer Science & Systems Architecture from the University of Essex.
The appointment relocates Andrew in his native Northamptonshire after 25 years working for British Airways at Heathrow Airport and Emirates in Dubai. He is looking forward to reconnecting with friends and his wider family circle and to enjoying walking in the local countryside, but will continue to indulge his passion for travel.
