Key Responsibilities;

  • Take technical ownership for the assigned seating modules and scope out requirements and targets for the project.
  • Developing composite products from concept through to certification and production readiness.
  • Creating new ideas and investigating alternative materials and manufacturing processes that will always consider weight, cost, robustness and the assembly process.
  • Verifying designs through calculations and key analysis to validate the product effectively.
  • Determine and manage priorities, timescales and deadlines and suggest solutions when at risk of deviating from original plans.
  • To manage and delegate tasks to junior engineering team members. 

To be successful in this position you will have; 

  • A Mechanical Engineering degree and significant post graduate experience.
  • Previous experience of working within an aerospace or automotive environment desirable.
  • Strong experience in the use of CAD for product design engineering – Catia V5 preferred but not essential.
  • The ability to undertake fundamental engineering hand calculations including stress analysis.
  • Experience of product evaluation and structural testing to validate the product against the targets set.
  • Experience in design and development of composite structures.
  • Sufficient exposure to the latest manufacturing techniques such as composites, injection mouldings, vacuum forming, castings, forgings, extrusions and machined from solid.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build relationships cross functionally within the business and when mentoring other team members.
  • The ability to adapt within a fast and pressured and deadline driven environment.

Key Responsibilities;  

  • Challenge the Acro Design and Certification team to optimise for weight, product robustness, recurring cost and non-recurring costs
  • Through the management of the DVP (design verification plan), define the means to ensure our seating products, components and materials pass the regulatory requirements and Acro’s own requirements to continually drive towards lightweight and robust products. This will include static, dynamic, HIC, abuse, flammability and cyclic tests
  • Manage the timing and priorities of tests. Organise the tests internally and externally, liaise with procurement and the prototype seat building team to ensure test articles are co-ordinated and delivered on time for testing
  • Determine the test articles required, and work with the development and apps team to ensure the design definition is given on time to support testing
  • Write test setups, plans and reports to ensure the test configuration and outcome are sufficiently captured
  • Develop testing and analysis load cases and criteria that will ensure our products are best in class for lightweight, robust and cost effectiveness
  • Co-ordinate and lead problem solving activities to understand the results from tests and to ensure engineering updates are co-ordinated on time to support subsequent testing.  

To be successful in this position you will have/be;  

  • A mechanically based engineering qualification or working towards with a structural mechanics bias
  • Previous experience of working in a mechanical test and development environment
  • Experience of working on Mechanical product development programmes
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work well under own initiative
  • The ability to analyse problems and recommend a course of action.

Reporting into the Warehouse Manager, you will manage the Warehouse team in delivering the production plan in order to deliver aircraft seats in line with customer requirements and to Acro quality standards, while maintaining a safe working environment.  Key responsibilities include:   

  • Agreeing the weekly plan and ensuring delivery dates/parts requirements are communicated and orders are delivered on time and in full.
  • Accountable for the final quality of product leaving the Warehouse.
  • Effectively using Lean tools (5S, Standard Work, Set up Reduction, Visual Management) within your team to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Ensuring the Warehouse areas are in an organized, clean and orderly state.
  • Accountable for the communication, product quality and delivery across operations.
  • Controlling traceability by ensuring paperwork and parts are kept with the correct work order.
  • Effectively communicating inconsistencies and issues relating to safety, quality, personnel, equipment and raw/finished goods to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensuring there are adequate numbers of skilled team members relative to the production plan by controlling absences and identifying shortfalls in headcount, liaising with the Warehouse Manager as appropriate to rectify issues.
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing the team to ensure safety, quality and productivity.
  • Holding team briefs and one to ones as appropriate.
  • Ensuring staff are acting in the appropriate manner in accordance with company procedures and managing them accordingly, escalating issues as appropriate to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Organising on the job training and requesting external training as appropriate in liaison with the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ad hoc tasks as required.

  
Skills and experience required;

  • Previous leadership, organisational and team management skills gained within an aviation or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in or understanding of utilising Lean tools (5S, Standard Work, Set Up Reduction and/or Visual Management).
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring and developing a team to ensure product levels and standards pertaining to quality and safety are met and maintained.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels.
  • Confident in Microsoft Office packages and quick to learn new in-house systems.

This position is responsible for leading a team of Engineers who deliver all retrofit customer projects culminating in the on-time, on-quality design data and bill of materials release to the operations team. The role includes the development work required as well as the correct configuration of existing developed designs to satisfy the project specification. The successful candidate will be deadline and quality focussed but will also understand the business to be able to apply a controlled, innovative approach when the standard approach does not satisfy our internal or external customers.     

Key responsibilities

  • To ensure that all engineering deliverables for retrofit projects are executed in accordance with programme timings and to the right quality (meet KPI targets)
  • To lead a team of engineers and to be technically responsible for the products that you and your team are designing.
  • Provide technical guidance and co-ordination to the design team and to have technical sign off of engineering changes and design releases generated within your team.
  • To utilise, maintain and to support the use and development of a PDM system to aid the control, release and output of engineering data.
  • Support the Applications Engineering Manager in the day to day running of your design engineering team.
  • Carry out aircraft seating design, investigation and concept engineering work utilising Catia V5.
  • Identify where Development is required on Retrofit projects and use NPD process to deliver – Chair gate reviews for features in development
  • Chair internal Design Reviews for Retrofit Projects  
  • Ensure that designs are carried out in accordance with the relevant EASA, FAA and Airframe Specifications.
  • Ensure the design meets the aesthetic and technical ambitions of the customer.
  • To liaise direct with OEM’s, Aircraft Manufacturers and Key suppliers.
  • Drive Root Cause investigation of design quality escapes or OTD failures.
  • Drive implementation of Corrective and Preventative actions.   
  • Provide effort to complete (ETC) estimates for retrofit projects on a monthly basis to allow financial planning/reporting   

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • Strong Mechanical or related Engineering degree
  • Relevant post grad engineering design experience with experience of leading/managing/supervising a team of engineers and demonstrable experience of technical product ownership.
  • Existing experience of working within the aircraft seating sector.
  • Extensive experience of a mechanical engineering related field utilising CAD for product manufacturing.
  • Must be capable of undertaking fundamental engineering hand calculations for example, stress analysis and reaction calculations.
  • The ability to analyse problems and recommend a course of action.
  • Sufficient exposure to the latest manufacturing techniques.
  • Extensive 3D CAD capability and experience within Catia V5.

Working within the Operations Department and closely with Quality, Design Engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI), Production and suppliers, you will support in improving multiple disciplines.  Resolving day-to-day manufacturing issues and ensuring that the manufacturing processes are the most suitable and cost effective in relation to our products and production volumes is a key focus of this position.
 
To be successful in this position you will have;

  • A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Significant post-graduate experience within a Manufacturing Engineering position and a sound understanding of current and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques.
  • Experienced with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement approaches.
  • Previous experience in New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Demonstrable experience of supplier development.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative, award winning and high growth business and continue to develop your career within manufacturing production.  Reporting into the Production Manager, you will act as a key facilitator to ensure the operation of the factory runs smoothly.  The role of Production Support Assistant is to ensure the lean manufacturing cells are fully supported to ensure maximum efficiency and on time production delivery. 
 
The role offers a variety in tasks and demands a strict attention to detail, organisation and the ability to work within a fast paced and demanding environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Load cells as directed by the Production Coordinator and / or Production Team Leader.
  • Ensure that shortage issues are highlighted to the Production Coordinator in a timely manner whilst monitoring and chasing progress and ensuring Team Leaders are regularly updated.
  • To act as an operational owner of the Kanban system – ensure the boxes are replenished as often as they need to be and highlight any discrepancies to stock count to the Production Coordinator.
  • Bring completed kits from Stores / (now and next area) to line-side.
  • Replenish and monitor consumable stock and work to correct procedures when taking stock from Stores.
  • Routinely check expiry dates and carry out stock checks, ensuring that line stock is well packaged and handled correctly.
  • Assist with boxing and loading lorries as required.
  • Ensure that cells are kept tidy as required and at least daily on all lines;
  • – Clear cardboard into the compactor.
  • – Take crates and pallets outside and disassemble as required.
  • – Check packaging for left-over stock.
  • – Return all empty plastic totes to the stores.
  • – Empty bins.
  • – Sweep floor.

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • Previous experience of working within a manufacturing / warehouse environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and use of VDU (Video Display Units) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skill with a strict attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing environments and demands.
  • A proactive and continuous improvement approach to day to day tasks.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our innovative, award winning and high growth business and continue to develop your career.  Reporting into the Production Manager you will work closely with Production Team Leaders, Purchasing, Stores, Quality Assurance Inspectors and Planning.  You will review, coordinate and manage the daily production requirements to ensure stock shortages are tracked and cleared in a timely manner against the production plan.
 
Key Responsibilities;

  • Monitor and track Parts supply and where necessary flag up shortages that could affect the Production plan.
  • Ensure all line quality issues are cleared in a timely manner by coordinating with stores, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineers, and Planning to allowing for a smooth production flow.
  • Ensure trace-ability of components is maintained with stores when rejects are identified in the build stage.
  • Rework all manufactured components in coordination with the Production Supervisor and Quality Assurance.
  • Liaise with Production Team Leaders when additional rework is required for planned completion.
  • Expedite components through goods inwards, stores and organise picking.
  • Rectify BOM issues with planning affecting all production build.
  • Manage Concessions / Permits with works orders to ensure integrity of our product.

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • Previous experience of stock control within a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of managing materials and works orders etc within an ERP system.
  • Able to work under pressure without compromising on quality.
  • Be able to communicate and present information effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable stakeholder management and the ability to effectively interact cross functionally within the business.
  • A professional, focused and positive approach when operating in a faced paced team driven environment.

  • Coordinating production workflow for one or multiple products.
  • Planning and prioritising operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.   
  • Determining manpower needed to cover production demand.
  • Regular update meetings with production manager to update on production plan.  
  • Run the purchasing shortage meeting recording meeting minutes.      
  • Communicate any expected production delays.
