Tell me what your role involves?

My role involves leading the design applications department and being responsible for a team of 8 design engineers reporting to the Engineering Manager. My role also comprises of taking ownership of projects from the very start to when the product leaves the factory. My team and I are fully responsible for ensuring seats are designed to the highest of standards and that they meet the customers requirements.

 

What is a typical day like?

Very challenging and busy, although the day always starts with a good brew!

 

What attracted you to Acro?

Personally I wanted to re-enter the aerospace industry since this is my preferred business. After researching the company and observing consistent growth, I wanted to play a part in embodying standards to maintain development and to be party to the continued success of the business.

What do you enjoy about working at Acro?

There is never a dull moment at ACRO, everyday brings new challenges and the people are great, approachable and very hardworking.

 

What did you do before you came here?

I started my career as a craft apprentice working at a large aerospace company in the North, I spent 6 years within the industry working in many different engineering disciplines whilst working towards a BEng. I then moved into the automotive world where I spent 18 months designing blast and ballistic survivability cells for utility vehicles, to be used by military forces around the world.

 

Tell me something interesting about yourself

I am incredibly competitive and always strive for the best. I am also exceptionally persistent, sustaining a long distance relationship for 6 years that resulted in marriage!
I really hate flying but absolutely love planes!
