Our Team

What do our Operations team do?

Quite simply, The Operations Team is the engine that drives Acro forward; From working with the ideas of our designers, through selecting, collaborating and negotiating with our suppliers, moving on to the Assembly area where our seats are born, all the way through to the day they leave us on the way to their new life in the skies. The Operations team have a hand in making things happen.

The Operations Team consists of a broad selection of talented individuals that have the skills, knowledge and experience to deliver on our commitment of giving the customer exactly what they want. Perfect comfort for passengers delivered on time, every time at the best price.

Acro have a view that ‘Perfection is simplicity in its purest form’ so as a team, Operations have been tasked with developing and driving our processes and behaviours, so they are simpler, quicker and more customer focused. This takes time and there are many interesting challenges ahead of us. Because we work as a team and we are committed to adding new and talented people to make our team even stronger, we will achieve our goals while building your future.

Our Team

What do our Sales & Marketing team do?

The Sales & Marketing Team have our customers at the centre of everything we do.

From a Sales perspective, each member of the team is responsible for a specific regional territory or business segment and will handle all customer engagement in the pre-contract phase. Meeting with the potential customer at their offices or a trade show, demonstrating our products, and then preparing proposals to meet the requirements of the opportunity. The Sales Manager must know their customer inside out, anticipating requirements pro-actively rather than being reactive to enquiries. They will also negotiate, sometimes over a prolonged period, on pricing, services and contract terms. It can be tense at times and a strong nerve is always required!

Once the sales process is successfully completed and the seats are flying with the customer, all day-to-day communication is handled by the nominated Key Account Manager; co-ordinating spares support and monitoring usage, information requests and future seating requirements. Once again, a proactive approach delivers the best results.

Supporting the Sales and Key Account Management teams is our Marketing Team. They set the tone for everything we do to promote our products. From digital media, such as the www.acro.aero website through to the organisation of trade shows around the world – everything must reflect our quest to deliver ‘Perfect Passenger Comfort’.

Our Team

What do our Engineering team do?

The Industrial design and engineering teams at Acro currently comprises of around 60 designers and engineers, with a wide cross section of skills and experience.  At Acro we adopt a broad product development process that can start at blank page industrial design and advanced product development where we’re thinking of new ideas and investigating new materials and processes that we can use through to delivering seats on customer programmes and supporting them with technical product support when the seats are flying.

Our designers and engineers are involved in industrial design, project engineering, design and development, stress analysis, testing, certification and engineering support of the all mechanical components and integration of electrical systems on our aircraft seats.

Our seats are designed to be elegant and comfortable through maximising simplicity and passenger space, lightweight through the use of materials and structural optimisation without compromising the long-term durability of the seat.  Our seats are engineered using a broad range of materials ranging from aluminium alloys, carbon fibre composites, plastics, foam and trim materials utilising many different manufacturing processes which include machined from solid, extrusions, casting, forging, injection moulding, vacuum forming and composite press curing.

Our Team

What does our Through Life Support team do?

Acro’s support to passengers and airlines does not end when the seats leave the factory. The TLS team manage all the aftermarket processes required to ensure our seats deliver perfect comfort throughout their life in service.

Every day is different as we collect feedback from the field. Our dynamic operational team provide technical support to solve in-service issues and also manage the delivery of spare parts and the negotiation of potential warranty claims. The TLS team also deliver hands-on support all over the world through the operations of the Acro Away Team, a team of senior technicians which can provide on-site technical expertise and entry-into-service training for airlines.

Our Team

What do our Project Management team do?

Our project management team lead on unique, time bound endeavours that involve balancing trade-offs between cost, time, and scope whilst maintaining project deliverables. The role also involves communicating with stakeholders, influencing without authority, tracking and reporting status, tuning and pruning processes, and driving execution.  Project management includes managing risks and issues.  The team are heavily involved in communicating and promoting the vision to get stakeholder buy-in and support.

Our Team

What do our People and Place team do?

Our People and Place team are creating ‘a place where people feel fulfilled and are able to grow’. Bringing together the HR, Facilities and HSE functions, our team do their best, so that our people can do theirs. We believe that our people are our customers, and they are at the heart of everything that we do. Through consultancy and support we provide: insight, guidance, challenge, resources and facilities to enable our people to be the best that they can be in their roles.

Our Team

What do our Finance team do?

As you’d expect of any finance department, the team here look after all the essentials: monthly and statutory accounting and reporting; payables and receivables; invoicing; payroll and managing working capital.
Each month we analyse the financial performance of the business and report how well we are doing against our budgets, looking at sales, product margins, overheads, stock, capital expenditure, working capital and of course cash flow. In doing so we support the different parts of the business helping them understand the financial impact of operations and the decisions they make. It helps us get involved in all aspects of Acro and make a real difference.

In addition, for our business which has long product lead times and requires financing upfront development costs our ability to forecast forward is essential. This makes for exciting work as we support our sales and engineering teams look at how we price our sales and cost our products to ensure we maintain healthy margins and do it accurately based on existing knowledge and future initiatives. As no two customers seats are the same, the underlying data we use is essential and the future will see us drive investments in improving our core transactional systems, adding customer relationship management and business intelligence software to make our forecasting process as accurate as we can, faster and fully supporting all parts of the business and our key stakeholders. It certainly is an exciting area to be involved in.
