International Sales Manager

Reporting into the Sales Director and working within the Commercial Department, the International Sales Manager will be responsible for generating, developing and closing new sales opportunities from new and existing customers.  This is an exciting opportunity to represent Acro Aircraft Seating and our fantastic products by developing new business opportunities via your network, cold calling and marketing.  You will attend conferences and shows on an international basis and hold a key focus on developing and closing compelling commercial proposals.

To be successful in this position you will have;

  • Proven new business sales experience on an international basis and a strong ability to identify real customer needs.
  • Sales experience within the aviation industry – working with aircraft seating or interiors would be a distinct advantage or experience within airlines and relevant leasing companies.
  • Strong experience of prospecting via existing networks, cold calling, marketing, attending conferences and shows and presenting/pitching to potential clients.
  • Experience of creating compelling commercial proposals and negotiating contracts.
  • Written and spoken language skills would be a distinct advantage although not essential.
  • Confidence in the use of Microsoft Office Programmes to include Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A strong work ethic with a team driven approach and a passion for working towards deadlines.

This is a role that requires regular travel on an international basis.

Manufacturing Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to work within the Operations Department and closely with the Quality, Design Engineering, New Product Introduction (NPI) and Production Teams.  The Manufacturing Engineer will support in improving multiple disciplines and resolving day-to-day manufacturing issues, ensuring that the manufacturing processes are the most suitable and cost effective in relation to our products and production volumes is a key focus of this position.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with and develop our key suppliers in ensuring zero defects upon delivery whilst continuing to drive costs down.  Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering activities to ensure that all changes and new developments meet design for manufacture, design for reliability and design for cost targets whilst managing a timely and effective introduction into the manufacturing process is essential.

To be successful in this position you will have;

  • A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Significant post-graduate experience within a Manufacturing Engineering position and a sound understanding of current and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques.
  • Experienced with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement approaches.
  • Previous experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience of supplier development.
  • PC skills to include Microsoft Office programmes and ideally some previous exposure to Computer Aided Design (CAD) programmes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Certification Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Certification Engineer to add value to our business by compiling, reviewing and submitting certification and technical publishing documentation for the seating projects, keep up to date with regulatory materials and develop best practice processes and documentations for the business whilst working closely with the external authorities.

Working within the Engineering Department, the Certification Engineer will lead a range of certification activities across multiple seating projects.  This is a great opportunity to work closely with the relevant authorities and air-frame manufacturers to deliver certification documents and activities in line with the programme and business requirements. Key areas of focus will include static, dynamic, flammability, HIC and environmental certification plans and reports.

To be successful in this position you will have;

  • An Engineering degree and significant post-graduate experience within certification.
  • Previous experience of applying certification activities to aircraft seating or aircraft interiors.
  • Demonstrable experience of writing and reviewing test plans, reports and qualification documents.
  • The ability to analyse and recommend a course of action and/or provide innovative solutions.
  • A confidence in making clear and unambiguous decisions in a fast paced and pressured environment.
  • A natural ability to communicate across a business and build relationships internally as well as externally with authorities.
  • Experience of authoring modification paperwork for an Aerospace application.
  • Demonstrable experience of dealing with Aerospace authorities and airframe manufacturers.
  • Previous experience as a CVE for a part 21 (A)DOA highly desired.
  • Strong negotiation, project management, structured problem solving and organisation skills.

Stress Engineer

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and optimise the structural design of our seating products through performing complex linear and non-linear static and dynamic FE analyses, performing and documenting analytical hand calculations and developing a “right first time” approach to engineering through analytical methodology, procedures and documentation.

To be successful in this position you will have;

  • A Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree.
  • Previous experience within aircraft seating, aircraft interiors or the automotive industry.
  • Worked within a development environment and closely with Design Engineers.
  • Extensive experience of using a non-linear FEA system.
  • Experience related to a mechanical engineering field utilising CAD and FEA for product design, optimisation and development.
  • Previous experience and confidence in applying fundamental engineering hand calculations including determining load cases and stress / stiffness analysis.
  • Demonstrable experience of technical product ownership.
  • 3D CAD design engineering experience.
  • Excellent communication with the ability to build collaborative working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong organisation and coordination skill.

Design and Development Engineer

Working within the New Product Development team, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop and deliver state of the art aircraft seating products and technologies.  Acro deliver robust engineering solutions that are delivered right first time, on time and to budget.  Working closely with the NPD team and wider business this position is accountable for the safe and reliable design of multiple aircraft seating programmes and ensuring regulatory guidelines are met and weight and cost are always considered in the design process.

To be successful in this position you will have;

 A Mechanical Engineering degree and significant post graduate experience.

Previous experience of working within an aerospace or automotive environment desirable.

Strong experience in the use of CAD for product design engineering – Catia V5 preferred but not essential.

The ability to undertake fundamental engineering hand calculations including stress analysis.

Experience of product evaluation and structural testing to validate the product against the targets set.

Experience in design and development of composite structures.

Sufficient exposure to the latest manufacturing techniques such as composites, injection mouldings, vacuum forming, castings, forgings, extrusions and machined from solid.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build relationships cross functionally within the business and when mentoring other team members.

The ability to adapt within a fast and pressured and deadline driven environment.

Head of Purchasing

Reporting into the Operations Director and working closely with Engineering, Accounts, Production and external suppliers, the Head of Purchasing will lead the development of partnerships with suppliers, manage the timely delivery and cost effective purchasing of all production and consumable materials, introduce and develop new and existing suppliers into the NPD process.

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

Previous purchasing management experience within a progressive manufacturing / engineering environment.

Experience within the aerospace industry would be a distinct advantage although not essential.

Excellent organisation and coordination skill with a creative approach to problem solving to ensure a key alignment between purchasing, the supply chain, manufacturing and customer services.

Strong team management, motivation, nurturing and dynamic leadership skills.

First class negotiation skill with a target and results driven approach.

Excellent relationship building ability with a partnership in supply chain style.

Knowledge of modern manufacturing practices and NPD (New Product Development).

Fully conversant in the use and management of ERP / MRP systems and inventory control processes.
