Team Leader-Manufacturing Assembly

As an integral member of the Production Department and reporting directly into the Production Supervisor, the Team Leader will manage a production cell team in delivering the production plan in order to deliver aircraft seats in line with customer requirements to the company quality standards.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Agree the weekly plan and ensure delivery dates/parts requirements are communicated and met to ensure delivery of orders on time.
  • Accountability for the final quality of the product leaving the cell.
  • Effectively use Lean tools (5S, Standard Work, Set up Reduction, Visual Management) within the teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Maintain lines and production areas in an organised, clean, and orderly state. Accountable for the communication, product quality and delivery across production.
  • Control traceability by ensuring paperwork and parts are kept with the correct work order. Effectively communicates inconsistencies/issues relating to safety, quality, personnel, equipment and/or raw/finished goods to production supervisor.
  • Ensure that there are adequate numbers of skilled team members relative to the production plan by controlling absences and skills identifying shortfalls in headcount and rectifying as soon as possible within the team in conjunction with the production supervisor.
  • Able to coach, mentor and develop the team to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Hold team briefs, on the job training as well as one to one meetings.

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

Previous leadership, organisational and team management skills gained within a manufacturing production environment – manual assembly line environment highly desirable. Experience of utilising Lean tools (5S, Standard Work, Set up Reduction, Visual Management). Able to coach, mentor and develop a team to ensure safety, quality, and productivity to include 1-1 experience, team briefs output and KPI management. Excellent interpersonal communication skill. Confident in Microsoft office packages and quick to learn new in house systems. Strong integrity, initiative, focus and attention to detail.

Commercial Analyst

Reporting into the Financial Controller you will be responsible for providing commercial sales support to the senior management and sales team.  You will be responsible for assisting in the formulation of pricing strategies, Commercial Bids and the analysis of sales, margins and competitor market analysis.

You will run weekly sales and operations meetings to suggest changes and improvements to support budgeting and forecasting models.  Another key responsibility in this position will be to assist in the implementation of a CRM system ensuring its best use in understanding sales management and performance reporting.

  • A qualified Accountant or finalist ideally within CIMA.
  • Previous experience within a Commercial Finance role preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment, although not essential.

Head of Purchasing

Reporting into the Operations Director and working closely with Engineering, Accounts, Production and external suppliers, the Head of Purchasing will lead the development of partnerships with suppliers, manage the timely delivery and cost effective purchasing of all production and consumable materials, introduce and develop new and existing suppliers into the NPD process.
Key Responsibilities;

  • Build and maintain real, mutually beneficial partnerships with new and existing suppliers. Coach and develop the Purchasing team to achieve the companies and their own aspirations. Drive the purchasing team to achieve and maintain tight purchasing schedules. Reduce material costs wherever possible within the guidelines of quality standards and inventory levels.
  • Negotiate contracts for supply of material from existing and new suppliers to also include upholding and improving quality standards of materials received.
  • Develop processes to guarantee adequate and on time delivery of materials for production. Development, implementation and continuous improvement of all purchasing and material control systems.
  • Setting and ensuring achievement on short term targets and long term goals for the purchasing and manufacturing operation.
  • Source new materials, processes and suppliers for new and existing products as required.
  • To be successful in this position you will have/be;
  • Previous purchasing management experience within a progressive manufacturing / engineering environment. Experience within the aerospace industry would be a distinct advantage although not essential. Excellent organisation and coordination skill with a creative approach to problem solving to ensure a key alignment between purchasing, the supply chain, manufacturing and customer services.
  • Strong team management, motivation, nurturing and dynamic leadership skills. First class negotiation skill with a target and results driven approach. Excellent relationship building ability with a partnership in supply chain style. Knowledge of modern manufacturing practices and NPD (New Product Development). Fully conversant in the use and management of ERP / MRP systems and inventory control processes.

Senior Industrial Engineer

Key Responsibilities;

  • To act as the product champion and voice of the passenger within the design process.
  • To capture and document product requirements.
  • Develop design briefs for and then work with external design agencies to create product design concepts that fulfill the company product plan.
  • Create and manage physical models/prototypes of concepts which are often outsourced but to take a hands on approach is an essential part of the role.
  • Lead collaboration with the design engineering and supply chain to ensure design concepts meet requirements.
  • Maintain design integrity throughout the engineering design phases by participating in regular design engineering reviews.
  • Develop product customisation strategies for each seat type, defining baseline and cost option features, including standard dress cover designs and finish ranges that meet commercial needs.
  • Manage the production of product renderings, models and photography to support sales and marketing.

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • A strong background within Industrial / Product Design with a relevant product or industrial design degree qualification or similar.
  • A true passion for product development with a creative, inventive, collaborative and ideas driven approach.
  • Excellent motivation to lead the design process and collaborate internally throughout its differing phases.

Reporting into the Head of Programmes, the Project Manager will have overall responsibility for managing a number of high profile projects including retrofit and linefit programmes adhering to all contractual, commercial & technical aspects. Quality Auditor

Reporting into the Head of Quality, the Quality Auditor will be responsible for monitoring the Business Management System and supporting in the continual improvement of internal processes and procedures.  This is an excellent opportunity to add value to the Quality Assurance department and plays an essential role in the successful quality compliance and audit internally for the business as well as with external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities;

  • To ensure compliance with EASA Part 21G and AS9100 approvals.
  • Consistent identification, improvement and development to the internal Business Management System.
  • Performing regular audits of the Quality Management System.
  • Reporting on audit conclusions and corrective actions for suppliers.
  • Manage root cause analysis and the development of corrective and preventative actions.

 

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • Existing experience of internal and external quality auditing within the aerospace industry to include EASA Part 21G and EASA part 145 would be an distinct advantage, auditing experience from the automotive industry also of interest.
  • Previous experience in process / product auditing to ISO9001and AS9100.
  • An engineering background, with exposure to automotive or aerospace and manufacturing and design processes.

Certification Engineer

Leading a range of certification activities across multiple seating projects you will work directly with the authorities, external (A)DOA and airframe manufactures to deliver acceptable Certification documents. Completing all required certification activities in line with the programme and business requirements, these could include static, dynamic, flammability and environmental certification plans and reports. Lead structured problem solving activity following undesired project outcomes, pursue to conclusion, document investigation and then communicate and implement lessons learned.

Key responsibilities are:Compile, review and submit certification & technical publishing documentation, and take responsibility for their quality output and timely delivery. Compile or Verify Compliance against certification requirements of certification documentation, test plans and reports to meet applicable regulations, guidance material and specifications. Keep up to date, review and understand all applicable regulatory material, guidance material and interpret for project application. Develop best practice processes and documentation to support a lean approach to quick turnaround of projects for baseline products. To support the generation of CMMs/SBs/TRs/SILs to required industry standards, with the aid of CAD tools and when available products to review the design. Keep up to date, review and understand all applicable regulatory material, guidance material and interpret for project application

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • An engineering degree
  • Demonstrable experience of writing and reviewing test plans, reports and qualification documents
  • Must be computer literate
  • The ability to analyse and recommend a course of action and/or provide innovative solutions
  • Must be able to make clear and unambiguous decisions, passing these on in situations of extreme pressure
  • Experience of authoring modification paperwork for an Aerospace application.

Senior Applications Engineer

This role is exclusively with eSift, no agencies please.

As an integral member of the Design Engineer team and reporting into the Lead Design Engineer the Senior Applications Engineer will be accountable for the safe and reliable design of aircraft seats across multiple programmes. Leading and managing a team of engineers you will be technically responsible for the products that you and your team deliver. You will act as the main technical interface between the business and the customer, ensuring that all requirements both design and regulatory focussed are successfully negotiated and delivered upon.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Defining, driving, planning, controlling and monitoring progress of the engineering team to ensure full delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Lead, manage and support direct reports with the design and compliance of the aircraft seat on a day to day basis as well as managing 1-2-1 meetings, holiday approval, sickness/absence management, personal development plans and appraisal reviews.
  • Direct and regular liaison with the external customer and airframe manufacturer to ensure all engineering requirements are understood and agreed.
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers in order to successfully deliver on the technical solutions.
  • To support the Lead Design Engineer and Engineering Manager in continuous improvement of systems and processes to maximise efficiency and quality output ensuring best practice.
  • To communicate with all relevant engineering, stress and certification teams and regulatory bodies to ensure all aspects of checking and approval are met.

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • A Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree.
  • Post graduate design engineering experience within the aerospace sector.
  • Previous experience of engineering complex structural or mechanical products through to manufacture.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading, supervising or managing a team of engineers.
  • 3D CAD capability and experience, Catia 5 preferred.
  • Excellent and previous customer facing experience from an engineering perspective.
  • A strong negotiator, decision maker, excellent coordination and organisation skill.
