Key Responsibilities;

  • Take technical ownership for the assigned seating modules and scope out requirements and targets for the project.
  • Developing product components and sub-assemblies from concept through to certification and production readiness for a variety of manufacturing processes including composites and plastic moulded components.
  • Creating new ideas and investigating alternative materials and manufacturing processes that will always consider weight, cost, robustness and the assembly process.
  • Verifying designs through hand calculations and analysis to validate the product effectively.
  • Determine and manage priorities, timescales and deadlines and recommend recovery solutions when at deliverables are at risk.
  • To work closely with our suppliers on development projects, holding them to account to deliver against agreed deliverables.

 
To be successful in this position you will demonstrate;

  • A Mechanical Engineering or related degree with significant post graduate experience.
  • Experience in design and development of plastics, trims and composite structures.
  • Strong experience in the use of Catia V5, surfacing experience desirable.
  • Previous experience of working within the aerospace, automotive or rail industry preferred.
  • The ability to undertake fundamental engineering hand calculations including stress analysis.
  • Experience of product evaluation and structural testing to validate the product against the targets set.
  • Sufficient exposure to the latest manufacturing techniques such as composites, injection mouldings, vacuum forming, castings, forgings, extrusions and machined from solid.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build relationships cross functionally within the business and when mentoring other team members.

Reporting into the Senior Quality Engineer/Manufacturing Quality Manager and working with the Quality Engineering team, you will take the lead on the inspection of goods into the company.  Working closely with suppliers, you will ensure that goods are received at the high standards required.  Planning and validating Quality Assurance and Quality Control techniques for all lean manufacturing and assembly areas, you will set up lean cells to ensure delivery of products have met the required standards.  Complying at all times with requirements of the Quality Management System, you will be engaged in the validation and follow up actions of internal and external FAI’s. Acting as the main point of contact for the Customer Care Team for customer complaints, you will review trend analysis and facilitate 8D to root cause, ensuring preventative actions are implemented effectively.

To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a similar manufacturing environment and involvement in problem-solving techniques

Reporting into the Financial Controller, as the Design and Project Analyst, you will support our Engineering, Design, Programmes and Operations departments via reporting, planning, project accounting and analysis in understanding and protecting their revenue and cost base.  You will be a business partner to each department to optimise their levels of efficiency, and drive improvements.  You will develop reporting structures and KPIs that are simple and accurate to highlight operational risks, commercial opportunities and aid Senior Management decision making.
  
As the Design and Projects Analyst you will support Engineering and Procurement in the set up of commercially viable and technically feasible bill of material targets for products to best monitor the progress of cost down initiatives and achieving set targets in time for production launch. 
  
An essential part of the role is to support the annual and quarterly budgeting and re-forecasting process and liaise with the finance team to ensure the weekly and monthly cash flow forecast reflects the latest project expenditure forecast.  You will also participate in the Month End and Year End processes, and liaise with Auditors during statutory audits.
  
To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • A qualified Accountant, preferably CIMA
  • Demonstrable experience with Project Costing and Project Accounting, ideally within a product design and engineering environment.
  • Comfortable with using ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel Skills, including Financial Modelling.
