Acro has an excellent new opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Manager with proven site facilities Management experience to join our fast-growing business!

Reporting into the HR Director this role will lead on the development, implementation and management of the facilities and HSE strategy to support our continued growth.  It will cover overall management of health and safety for the business and will have facility management responsibility for our site in Crawley with the core focus being to deliver perfect comfort for employees.

 To be successful in this position you will have;

Demonstrable experience in facilities management within a manufacturing environment.

NEBOSH Diploma/ NVQ 5/ Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety Management and facilities.

Grad IOSH level or equivalent preferred but not essential.

Previous experience of managing OHSAS 18001 will be an advantage.

Project management experience with the ability to build relationships at all levels within the business

Reporting into the Director of Programme Management, the Project Manager will have overall responsibility for managing a number of high profile customer projects and adhering to all contractual, commercial & technical aspects. The Project Manager will manage the projects from initial proposal win stage through the full life cycle and liaise with both internal and external customers throughout the process.

As an integral member of the leadership team, the Project Manager will communicate effectively with other engineers, project leads, management and client representatives to ensure the company’s reputation for high quality products and services is maintained.

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

Project management experience with previous experience within the aerospace industry highly desired.

Previous experience of working for a leading aircraft seating manufacturer or Aircraft interior manufacturer highly desired.

A Prince2 or similarly recognised qualification.

Reporting into the Lead NPD Project Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for supporting New Product Development (NPD) and the successful delivery of multiple complex projects.  Working closely with the Project Manager and Head of Programmes and collaborating closely with Engineering, Production, Procurement and external suppliers / customers, this full lifecycle project management position will take on a range of tasks and will require a strong technical / engineering understanding.

To be successful in this position you will have/be;

  • Strong Project Management experience to include management of technical projects.
  • A previous background in Engineering with exposure to New Product Development (NPD).
  • Experience of working within the Aviation industry with knowledge of regulatory bodies such as EASA, CAA and FAA preferred but not essential.

Certification Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Certification Engineer to add value to our business by compiling, reviewing and submitting certification and technical publishing documentation for the seating projects, keep up to date with regulatory materials and develop best practice processes and documentations for the business whilst working closely with the external authorities.

Working within the Engineering Department, the Certification Engineer will lead a range of certification activities across multiple seating projects.  This is a great opportunity to work closely with the relevant authorities and air-frame manufacturers to deliver certification documents and activities in line with the programme and business requirements. Key areas of focus will include static, dynamic, flammability, HIC and environmental certification plans and reports.

To be successful in this position you will have;

  • An Engineering degree and significant post-graduate experience within certification.
  • Previous experience of applying certification activities to aircraft seating or aircraft interiors.
  • Demonstrable experience of writing and reviewing test plans, reports and qualification documents.
  • The ability to analyse and recommend a course of action and/or provide innovative solutions.
  • A confidence in making clear and unambiguous decisions in a fast paced and pressured environment.
  • A natural ability to communicate across a business and build relationships internally as well as externally with authorities.
  • Experience of authoring modification paperwork for an Aerospace application.
  • Demonstrable experience of dealing with Aerospace authorities and airframe manufacturers.
  • Previous experience as a CVE for a part 21 (A)DOA highly desired.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Working within the New Product Development team, this is a fantastic opportunity to develop and deliver state of the art aircraft seating products and technologies.  Acro deliver robust engineering solutions that are delivered right first time, on time and to budget.  Working closely with the NPD team and wider business this position is accountable for the safe and reliable design of multiple aircraft seating programmes and ensuring regulatory guidelines are met and weight and cost are always considered in the design process.

To be successful in this position you will have;

 A Mechanical Engineering degree and significant post graduate experience.

Previous experience of working within an aerospace or automotive environment desirable.

Strong experience in the use of CAD for product design engineering – Catia V5 preferred but not essential.

The ability to undertake fundamental engineering hand calculations including stress analysis.

Experience of product evaluation and structural testing to validate the product against the targets set.

Experience in design and development of composite structures.

Sufficient exposure to the latest manufacturing techniques such as composites, injection mouldings, vacuum forming, castings, forgings, extrusions and machined from solid.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build relationships cross functionally within the business and when mentoring other team members.

The ability to adapt within a fast and pressured and deadline driven environment.
